From Yahoo.com news:

Dr. George Tiller, one of the nation’s few providers of late-term abortions despite decades of protests and attacks, was shot and killed Sunday in a church where he was serving as an usher.

The gunman fled, but a 51-year-old suspect was detained some 170 miles away in suburban Kansas City three hours after the shooting, Wichita Deputy Police Chief Tom Stolz said.

I firmly believe Dr. Tiller was an evil man.  What he did to children was just pure evil through and through, however killing him in this manor is just as wrong.  This doesn’t help the cause, nor does it right the wrongs this man did.  I’m speculating here, but the person who shot him probably sees it as justified because he sees that his actions will save the lives of many children.  I disagree.  Murder is wrong.

What do you all out there in Flyover Country think?

Anti-Choice?

I heard this on the radio last night on the way home from work. Our local talk radio station played a portion of this interview during their top of the hour newscast.  One word struck me as I listened to it.  Maybe I’m out of the loop, but I’ve not heard this one before.  Anti-choice.

Anti-choice??  That’s really an odd spin on things.  Should we call those who want to sue the pants off of big tobacco anti-choice?  If I want to smoke, that’s my choice.  (I choose not too because it’s nasty, but that’s my choice to make.)  How about those who want national health care?  If I choose to spend my money on other things besides health care, like cable TV or a car payment for a nice new ride that’s my choice.  (Again, not really the choice I make, but I should be able to if I want.)  Here’s a good one, how about the choice to bear arms?  If you are against that can I call you “anti-choice” now?

The video embedded here is from an issue that is developing here in Fly Over Country as it has in other places.  A pro-life group has gone to several Planned Parenthood offices with someone professing to be 13 years old and claims to be pregnant from someone who is in their 30s.  Twice here locally the Planned Parenthood rep has not reported the incidents to police and has advised the minor to seek abortions somewhere besides PP.  You can get the details at the Indianapolis Star website.

Planned Parenthood is not “pro-choice”, they are “pro-abortion”.
