This morning, President Obama was announced as the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize. At least now there is concrete proof that, to paraphrase Dennis Green, the Nobel Peace Prize is what we thought it was: a mere tool of the extreme left to promote extreme liberal views. The President has done nothing to deserve this “honor”, yet there it is.

To put it in perspective, though, the only other US presidents to win the Nobel were Teddy Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, and Jimmy Carter. Adding President Obama’s name to that list only proves that the only “peace” the Nobel committee acknowledges is peace through a progressive agenda, even when nothing has been accomplished.

Other US presidents that should have been considered:

Ronald Reagan: Ended the Cold War

George W. Bush: Brought most the of world together after 9/11

Of course, liberals/progressives don’t see those as positive things, so that will never happen.

I’m watching the end of the State of the Union address by President Obama and the members of congress are lining up for autographs from the President.  Has this ever happened before? Maybe I’ve just never noticed it.  It’s a bit disconcerting.  It seems as though these people should be the least affected by the messiah complex.  How are you supposed to provide oversight and checks and balances if you are googly-eyed over him?

If anyone out there knows if this has happened before, will you let me know?  Leave me a comment or drop me an email.

Anyway, the speech itself was nothing remarkable.  More of the same.. blah, blah, blah, spending, blah, blah, blah, more spending, blah, blah, blah, socialism.  Ok, he didn’t say “socialism” specifically.  You had to read between the lines.

Governor Bobby Jindal is doing a good job with the response.  I liked when he talked about making the country better by putting the power in the hands of the people and not the government.  I wish more people felt that way.

From the New York Post:

After pushing Congress for weeks to hurry up and pass the massive $787 billion stimulus bill, President Obama promptly took off for a three-day holiday getaway.

I remember a certain group of media outlets, usually referred to as the “mainstream media”, criticising a certain former President, usually referred to as “President George W. Bush”, for spending a lot of time “vacationing”.  However, now our current Messiah-in-Chief (who’s been on the job an entire three weeks, by the way) takes a three day vacation before signing the stimulus bill.  However, here’s a quote from President Obama:

“Nobody disagrees with the idea that if we keep on putting this off that we’re going to end up seeing more months with half a million people losing their job each month. We can’t afford to wait.”

Apparently we can afford to wait three more days while he takes a break.

On a related note, did anyone see Huckabee this weekend?  If you’ve never watched the program, Gov. Huckabee usually spends the last segment of the show by giving his thoughts on a particular subject before his “Little Rockers” take to the stage to play a classic song.  (This is off the subject, but who does the sound for this show??  The “Little Rockers” aren’t great, but the sound makes them sound 100 times worse than what they really are.  It’s terrible!)

Anyway, this was from this weekend’s program and it was hilarious, and spot on!
